1.  I think hacking can have some pros and cons. Most of the time hacking is interpreted as harmful and illegal. Hacking can be good in some cases if it helps strengthen a computer network. Black hat hackers intend to do harm against individuals and seek to access someone’s information without their permission. White hat hackers want to help an organization through ethical hacking. White hat hackers help an organization prevent black hat hackers from accessing a system. White hat hackers can be a benefit for a business or an organization because it allows them to understand the loopholes within a network, so it is essential to have one.  

2.  When it comes to hacking, I do not have real life experience as I am new to cybersecurity, and everything involved. My perception of hacking is when someone with good or bad intentions access either a person or an organization’s network. This can be from an individual’s computer and everything on it such as their contacts, pictures, or any other applications they may utilize. This can be the same for organizations as well and everything that organization is a part of, for example a bank and all the data that they would save/have when it comes to their customers. So, a black hat would be someone or a group of people that have malicious intent in stealing, denying, etc. when it comes to individuals or organizations. White hat would be the opposite of the black hat, they can do the same thing, but a white hat does it to help in finding out weaknesses to help protect organizations. I do consider white hat hacking essential because they will help in identifying any vulnerabilities in the network and will help in correcting those vulnerabilities. Hope everyone has a great week. 

3.  The current administration’s immigration policy impacts economic, security and humanitarian policy in a multitude of different ways. The newest immigration policy as come from the Biden Administration in 2021. The economy runs on the success and proper movement of the country a whole. Included in that is funds to help support the security of both border while also providing support to the surrounding areas. When an issue occurs at the border, it can cause an immediate impact on economic prosperity. Through the economic standpoint thought, the policy is supposed to help support labor, taxes and even productivity by providing more workers and support. The security policy is affected by the development of better technology and advancements in protection to help support the officers on the borders. Now with humanitarian policy, this is where a large part of disagreement comes from. The policy is helping provide asylum to a lot of refugees. Which is also causing a large import of refugees and making the borders more crowded which in long term is affecting economy and security as well. It was treated differently before 9/11, not only because of the administration, but because the threats at the border or terrorism was just not the main focal point for our country as it should have been. We focused on keeping illegal immigrants out of the country but we didn’t provide the proper resources and funding to be completely successful. We almost gave no attention to the border with Canada which allowed anyone to come in and out including terrorists. Proper border security was not provided and funding was stagnant. 

Due to the differences between the northern and southern border, the challenges we face at both are different even when talking about illegal immigrants. The number of immigrants at the Mexico border are just continuing to rise and that is also due to the policies in place. With the northern border, we just do not have a focal point on it but with COVID just coming to an end you are starting to see a larger influx at the northern border as well with “tourism”. Anyone seeking asylum with a child is basically given safe passage and nothing can be done because they then become illegal immigrants if they miss the court dates. And I do believe the current policy in place treats illegal immigrants with dignity because they are given the opportunity to seek asylum, go through the process correctly and get proper work in this country. COVID-19 is what basically shifted and altered the way everyone looked at immigration. The whole world shut down for years but immigration could not stop but tensions at the borders only got worse. You could almost say COVID made the policy null and void because we were preventing anyone from entering and exciting the country a whole. When something like a pandemic hits, the priority is to protect the citizens of this country and that is exactly what the Trump administration started. Policy is hard to follow in times like this. While trying to protect our own an also appease the immigrants looking for asylum.
