After reading Diagramming and Evaluating Arguments read “Social Media: Establishing Criteria for Law Enforcement” (Links to an external site.) by Robert D. Stuart.  Write a claim of value response, evaluating the effectiveness of Stuart’s argument.

• Write an essay  evaluating the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of Stuart’s argument. Evaluate. Don’t summarize (though in your evaluation, you will likely need to briefly summarize his thesis and supporting points).

• Include the title of the article and full name of the author in your introduction.
• Avoid the use of 1st and 2nd person and personal opinion in this essay. Stick to 3rd person.

• Length: 3 pages (does not include Title page and Reference page)
• 12 point, Times New Roman font, double-spaced, one inch margins,
• Include a Title page and References page in correct APA format. See this resource (Links to an external site.). Be mindful of hanging indentations.

Format for a Quotation:   

Ordinarily, introduce the quotation with a signal phrase (see this resource (Links to an external site.)) that includes the author’s last name followed by the year of publication in parentheses. Put the page number (preceded by “p.”) in parentheses after the quotation.

Example:

Smith (2003) noted that despite growing numbers of overweight Americans, many health care providers still “remain either in ignorance or outright denial about the health danger to the poor and the young” (p. 5).

Required Length

3 full pages not including your title and references pages. “1 full page” refers to a full page of 12-point Times New Roman double-spaced font that runs to the bottom of the page. 1-inch margins. No excessive spaces to pad length.

Late Work Policy

• No late work is accepted in our course.
• “Late” is defined as 1 second past the posted due date and time.

Insufficient Work Policy

Excused Absence Policy
